Editor’s note: Thanks to Michael Powers, Steven King, and Jim Kakuk for their photos of past retreats! Thanks also to Dave, Don, Eric, Misha, Steve, Deb, Paula, Scott, Jeff, Cate, Dennis, Michael, Gordon, and Jim who are all represented in these photographs. What a team!
The Rogue Valley was blazing and whole neighborhoods vanishing in flame and ash. Instead of blithely heading off on a kayak adventure I was stuffing all my wordly goods (starting with camping and kayaking gear) into the truck preparatory to evacuating. So much for Plan A.
Now we’re heading into October, the truck is unpacked, and here in Ashland we’re enjoying an uneasy truce with the weather while we wait for the first really big rain. All of us Rangers are in various stages of disarray due to fire and plague and there won’t be a Tsunami Retreat for some time so for our October post we’re offering a Retreat Retrospective. Time to take a look back at 30-plus years of retreats in which the Rangers paddled, preyed, and played in some of the most beautiful ocean environments on the planet. We hope you’ll enjoy the photos!

We hope you have enjoyed our Tsunami Ranger Retreat Retrospective. It’s been fun to look back on the lifetime of adventure we’ve enjoyed with our kayaks, our tribe, and the sea. Feel free to share your kayak camping adventures below! Thanks for reading our blog, and may the journey continue!
Looking back over the years, so many adventures.
Yes, it was so fun. May have to do it again sometime.
Yes we will.
Wow Nancy gracias, brigado, so many wonderful moments, memories, people, places, vibrations, waves, kayaks, landscape, smiles, adventures, sunrises and sunsets!
I think that triggered a deep ancient tsunami wave of joy, peace, passion and thirst for the next moment on the sea!
We will be out again in so many places as many continue to do here there and everywhere.
Gracias to the sea spirits and gods for allowing us to play among the interface of land, sea and conscious ness!

Thanks so much, Steve! Putting this post together did indeed trigger a lot of joy and peace. No matter what happens in the world the sunsets, waves, caves and the ocean are always there for us. And thank you again and again for all the effort you’ve put in to keep this blog going. You are loved and appreciated!
